At the beginning of the twelfth century, a bishop of Valencia, fleeing his city, which had just been reconquered by the Muslims, sailed to Jerusalem. He died, on the way, in Bari, where he left a relic of St. Vincent of Saragossa in the hands of the local archbishop Elia.
